EXECUTIVE PASTOR

Suffragan Bishop Judith O'Savio, MS, MA


Suffragan Bishop Judith Bostic O’Savio is a chartered member of the Mt. Olivet Apostolic Faith Church, Mount Vernon, New York, which was founded by her mother, the late Pastor Emeritus Beatrice Bostic. Married to Bishop Dr. Errol O’Savio, senior pastor of the Mt. Olivet Apostolic Faith Church and Diocesan of the Republic of Zimbabwe Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc., she serves as Executive Pastor, Director of Christian Education and member of the Trustee Board.


An ordained minister with the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Suffragan Bishop Judith O’Savio holds degrees of Bachelor of Music, Master of Science in Education and Master of Arts in Religious Education (MARE). She is a retired school teacher from the Mamaroneck School District, New York, where she taught for over 32 years. Currently, she is the 28th President of the Empire State Federation of Women’s Clubs, Inc., an affiliate of the Northeastern Federation of Women’s Clubs, Inc. and the National Association of Colored Women’s Clubs, Inc., the first organization for women of color established in 1896.


As a professional musician, Suffragan Bishop O’Savio was a consultant for the 1984 James Baldwin movie, Go Tell It on the Mountain. She was an adjunct professor at the Mercy College, Bronx, New York. Her professional expertise has contributed to her serving as President of the Westchester County Schools Music Association (WCSMA), seminarian and choral director at the New York State Schools Music Association (NYSSMA) conference and at the Music Educator’s National Conference (MENC).

 

Listed with ‘Who’s Who in America’, Suffragan Bishop O’Savio has recorded Gospel music, served as head director of the Mount Vernon Interfaith Community Choir, Mt. Vernon, New York, appeared on the Bobby Jones International Gospel Show and was guest conductor for the Westchester Philharmonic Orchestra.

 

In the New York State and Canada Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, she has served as secretary, vice president and president in the youth, women and ministers’ wives auxiliaries. She has served as Regional Director and is the current Secretary of the newly named International Women’s Ministry Auxiliary of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc.


An anointed teacher and preacher, Suffragan Bishop O’Savio has ministered throughout the East Coast and Canada. Along with her husband, their travels to proclaim the Word of God includes Jamaica, Bahamas, Canada, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Israel, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

 

Suffragan Bishop Judith O’Savio and Bishop Dr. Errol O’Savio are the parents of two adult children and the grandparents of six.
